The values of sport in the workplace can be hugely beneficial for individuals, teams and clients alike and that’s why we’re delighted to announce the principle sponsorship of the Samurai 7s in the 2018 Super Seven Series.
Samurai Rugby Football Club
Founded in 1996 by Terry Sands, the Samurai Rugby Football Club is widely regarded as one of the best invitational sevens teams in the world, with a trophy cabinet to match. The club operates on a purely invitational basis, bringing together some of the game’s finest players from around the world and boasts an incredible roster of past players – indeed, no fewer than 17 members of the #samuraifamily were among the medal winners at the 2016 Olympic games.
“I am delighted that Builtvisible is sponsoring Samurai 7s for the 2018 Super Sevens Series” said Geoff Griffiths, Builtvisible’s Managing Director and former Samurai 7s player. “I first played for Samurai over 10 years ago while still a professional rugby player. Over that time, the club has given me incredible experiences, fantastic friends for life and a real understanding of what it takes for a team to win. To now contribute in a different way is a real honour.”
This year’s Super Sevens tournament promises 4 pulsating tournaments with core 12 teams battling it out for the coveted series trophy.
Geoff commented further on how rugby has helped shape his management style to lead an award-winning agency.
Rugby has shaped my leadership philosophy hugely and both Samurai and Builtvisible share a set of common values including an ingrained culture of performance, the cultivation of talent and the notion of family – so it is a completely natural fit and I am hugely excited to see Samurai defend their title this year.
Mark Dean, Samurai Rugby Operations Director said:
We are delighted to be working with Builtvisible this year as they join the Samurai Family as our headline sponsor for the UK Rugby Sevens season. Geoff understands the club better than most given he has represented Samurai on numerous occasions and we are excited to work with him once again.
Without the support and funding Builtvisible generously provide, Samurai Rugby would not be able to continue with our mission to identify, develop and promote talented players and coaches in the UK.
