Taking its current form upon completion of the management buyout in December 2019, Builtvisible’s board of directors comprises our Founder Richard Baxter, Managing Director Geoff Griffiths and Grant Masom who brings decades of executive and non-executive experience growing technology and people businesses.
Richard Baxter
Founder
Having founded Builtvisible in 2009 and grown the agency from a one-man-band to a globally-renowned powerhouse in all things search, he stepped aside in June 2016 to let his management team take over, culminating in a management buy-out in 2019.
As well as remaining a significant shareholder in the business and holding a non-Executive role on the Builtvisible board, Richard acts in an advisory capacity to numerous online start-ups, helping organisations accelerate their early-stage growth through aggressive search and content marketing strategies.
Outside of online marketing, Richard is a keen amateur racing driver, home DIY enthusiast and proud father to his 4 year old son.
Geoff Griffiths
CEO
Geoff joined Builtvisible in 2013 as a front-line consultant as he transitioned out of professional rugby. Evolving into client services, he played a pivotal role in Builtvisible’s growth, before stepping up to Managing Director in 2016, and taking over day-to-day leadership of the company.
His sporting background brings a unique perspective to building high-performance teams, and his value-led approach has grown Builtvisible into one of the UK’s largest independent organic agencies.
Geoff acquired the business from founder Richard Baxter through a vendor-financed management buyout in December 2019 and sits on the board as CEO.
Grant Masom
Non-executive Director
Grant Masom has extensive experience of building and growing technology businesses in both executive and non-executive capacities. He was CEO of two IT services businesses, and has subsequently chaired eleven companies and served on the Board of five others, all within the technology, media and telecommunications industries.
In addition, he has consulted widely, advising both companies and investors. He has chaired two international charities and served as a trustee of four others. He holds a PhD from the University of Oxford, and Masters degrees from the University of Cambridge and the Open University.
