The resourcing manager sits right at the heart of the agency, working with each of our teams to seamlessly help us deliver industry-defining work. You will work with a broad range of talented team members, from account leads and strategists to creatives and technical experts

Your role will involve having the freedom to suggest and implement improvements to our systems, with the support of the excellent teams around you. You will also be given the opportunity to hire into the resourcing team, so you can focus on the bigger picture

What will you be doing?

We are looking for an experienced resourcing professional to join our operations department. This is a key role, sitting at the centre of our Client Services and Operations teams. We are looking for an autonomous and highly effective candidate who is willing to own, champion and challenge our resourcing processes.

We will also be tasking you with growing our Resource department, and you will hire a Junior Resource Co-ordinator to support you with administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities:

Forecasting and reporting

  • Analyse team utilisation, report on the effectiveness of our teams
  • Clearly communicate useful and impactful resourcing and utilisation insights to the leadership team, being sure to provide solutions alongside your findings
  • Make recommendations on time usage, working closely with our Heads of Product to understand their goals and ambitions for their teams and the sales teams to understand how they sell
  • Understand the wider aims of the agency and how the reporting you provide can contribute
  • Create and share robust and regular reporting on capacity, making hiring recommendations to ensure we are keeping up with demand and hiring into the right teams at the right time

Systems and process

  • Working closely with our Client Servicing and Operations teams, ensure that the resourcing process is effective and fit for purpose
  • Our agency is growing, and our processes will need to scale in line with our growth. Evaluate the resourcing processes, make recommendations, and implement with buy in from colleagues
  • Ensure everyone within the agency understands the resourcing process, and their part within it. Carry out training sessions to increase understanding of processes

Allocation and resource management

  • Create a plan to source agency skills using innovative approaches, highlighting areas for innovative and flexible resourcing, whilst maintaining effective, accurate and seamless allocation system
  • Work closely with the Client Services team to ensure their clients are serviced effectively, and they have access to the resource they need
  • Work closely with the sales team to understand what work is coming into the business, and when
  • Own the process for ad-hoc movements, working with your Junior Resource Co-ordinator to ensure the process is flawlessly executed
  • Ensure changes to allocation are executed swiftly, and are clearly communicated

What we’re looking for:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a resourcing role
  • Previous ownership of a resourcing process
  • An excellent communicator: this role is reliant on good internal relationships, and effective communication
  • A highly organised individual, able prioritise competing deadlines
  • A proactive and solutions focused mind-set. The process will be yours to develop and improve, and you will be expected to lead any innovation relating to our resourcing processes
  • The ability to self-manage; you should be keen to seek and act upon feedback
  • Meticulous attention to detail. Accuracy in your work is vital
  • Agency experience is a must
  • Experience of managing resourcing software. Experience using Mavenlink is a bonus
