Commercial Finance Analyst

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 DOE

Reporting to: Finance Director

The role

You will be responsible for providing business insights and decision support to the senior management team, client services and heads of department, acting as a key link between the finance department and the business. This newly created role will be integral in defining business and departmental KPIs and creating meaningful reporting to all key stakeholders.

Working closely with the Assistant Management Accountant, you will also be responsible for producing monthly management accounts, financial statements as well as forecasts and variance analysis.

Responsibilities include

Financial reporting and month-end

  • Managing the finance team’s month-end process, working closely with the Assistant Management Accountant on improving efficiency and reporting
  • Analysis and reporting on financial KPIs with heavy involvement in automation of reporting
  • Driving forward departmental performance reporting with a focus on product and utilization insights for the heads of department
  • Managing the preparation of year-end accounts and audits
  • Reviewing and improving current processes within the finance department, supporting the Assistant Management Accountant in their progression and involvement in management accounting
  • Taking ownership of Builtvisible’s finance policies and driving forward processes for the team and the business

Revenue and profitability

  • Overseeing Builtvisible’s revenue reconciliation process and reporting
  • Business partnering with client services and resource management on accurate project and client data, monitoring closely all reconciliations at client and product level
  • Assisting the FD in automating and reporting on client and project profitability

Department/product reporting

  • Producing departmental revenue and profitability reporting with a focus on product level analysis to the heads of department
  • Assisting the FD in defining methodology and reporting standards around product profitability and efficiency improvements

What we are looking for?

  • At least 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Good time management, organisational and planning skills – ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • We are looking for individuals who aspire to impact the direction and performance of the finance function

Desirable experience

  • Experienced in providing decision support and analysis to non-financial stakeholders with a strong understanding of financial and BI systems, controls and processes, paired with a track record of process improvements resulting in higher effectiveness in the organisation
  • Ideally fully qualified CIMA/ACCA or similar
  • Strong Excel and data visualisation skills, confident user of PowerPoint
